4 Species on the same hump

The guys on the BLUEFIN had a crazy day started off by a rouge wave that soaked half the crew. The bite started around 11am with a nice 40lb bluefin hitting a pink smoker with a horse ballyhoo on the long rigger. They were trolling 7 1/2 miles south west of the 26 mile hill on top of a 70' deep hump.

Little did they know that all of their fish would be caught within 1000' of the first bite ! Second hit they landed a 40" king mackerel on the way back blue/white islander with horse ballyhoo. Third was a 50" black tip shark on the same lure. Fourth was a gaffer dolphin on a pink smoker with ballyhoo trailing a pink squid spreader bar on the flat line. They also gaffed another dolphin that missed the pink smoker on the flat line and got hooked on a purple and black zuker on the short rigger.

Full House at The Wachapreague Inn as the fishing heats up

The Wachapreague Inn enjoyed lots of action as many anglers went offshore and some stayed inshore.

45lb bluefin and released a larger bluefin that was just under the 47" requirement
Room # 2 and #4 the Jason Tanner Crew fished with LUCKY DAWG and Captain
Mike Parker to land one bluefin and release a white marlin at 26 mile hill.
Room 14/15 The Paul Ebert group found the bluefin on Friday landing 5. Saturday
they boated a nice bluefin and a king mackerel.
Room 19/20 Powell Fox and his friends aboard the FOX BOX landed 80 flounder and
a few croakers. Unfortunately the 19" flounder minimum size limit took a toll
on the amount of fish they brought home.
Room 21 Jack Normand on REAL TIME had 8 knock downs on Friday, landing 4
Mahi. Saturday they had a Mean bluefin that snapped their line before the
gaf could be used.
Room 12/13 fished with SAM PARKER on the charter SCORPIO. Daryl Myers

General Report for 7/10 thru 7/13

Fishing Off shore has been very exciting this past week. Many Bluefin, Mahi Mahi and King Mackerel were caught around the 26 mile hill, crotch, lumpy bottom and sams hill. Two white marlin were released at the 26, one was reeled in by a 9 year old young lady on the White Bite. She also reeled in a 39lb bluefin that may be a world record for her age group. The fish were taking blue / white and pink / white islanders and sea witches with ballyhoos along with daisy chain squids and spreader bars on the flat lines with ballyhoo chasers. The best bite has been coming off the long riggers and the way back lines.
There were chunkers at the lumpy and the parking lot that were able to connect with their over and under of bluefin with some gaffers mixed in. The majority were using butterfish.
