17th Annual El Fluko Tournament

The official " EL FLUKO TOURNAMENT WINNER " is Chris Saylor with a
21 7/8" 4 pound even flattie. Many flounders came close to Chris' fish but he was able to squeek it out by 1/8" and an ounce.
The entire group, 30-40 participants, caught 100's of flounder.

Off shore action heating up

Over the last two weeks the in shore hills have produced many Mako and Thresher sharks. Mako's have been caught on the fast troll as well as chumming. The blue fish have been all over north and south of the lumpy bottom. Small bluefin tuna were caught in the same area.

June 12, 5 boats leaving Wachapreague brought back numerous gaffer dolphin and 3 yellowfin tuna in the 40 - 50 lb range. They were fishing around the Washington canyon.

Black sea bass have been coming in steady with a nice mix of fish up to 5 pounds.

For a detailed flounder report go to Don's Tackle shop web site.

Good fishing before the storm

Jeff Pitts and friends caught 17 flounder and kept three on a 4 hour trip. They fished where ever the wind wasn't blowing. Power lines, Bradsford channel and the Hummocks.

Family Fun.
