A big thanks to Fred & Lou for inviting us on the Marlin Magic. Thanks Capt Bill & 1st Mate Joe. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Now I understand why everyone flocks here to fish, it is really fun, especially when you don't have to touch anything slimy! Lou, what a great story...when you reeled in that huge fish with so many other boaters around :)

Wachapreague Inn Keeper's first flounder

Nikki Wardius "The Wachapreague Inn Keeper" caught her first and second flounder Friday during the tournament. She also lost one at the boat that could have possibly gone in the cooler. Too bad.

The 20th annual flounder tournament is underway and all gloves are off. Leading the charge is a Huge 9 lb 12 oz ( that's right 9 lb 12 oz) 29" DOOR MAT. Second is 6 lb 9 oz 25 1/2" flatty caught by Louetta Neighoff on the charter boat Marlin Magic. Louetta caught 3 keepers Friday.

Weather has been beautiful and the seas are peaceful. We will update daily.

Flounder report for the last few days -average 10-30 fish with 15% keeper ratio. The biggest one I heard of was 25" caught by Fred Engall's group (also 19" & 19 1/2"). They were the first to stay in our newly renovated house - they loved it - "they thought they died & went to heaven"

Room 1 over the last few days caught about 80 fish with 14 keepers. The biggest was 4 1/2 lbs. They were trolling around Green & Drawing Channels.

The forecast is clear for the next five days - 77 degrees on Friday - a perfect start to Cap't Zed's Tournament. Check out Don's Tackle Shop's website for more fishing reports.

Great news - the season has started - Rooms 5 & 6 caught 25 fish with 6 keepers on Thurs 4/1, and again on Friday - 25 fish with 5 keepers. Room 13 caught 30 fish with 6 keepers.

Check out Nita Dream's charter packages below - Frank thanks for posting, they look good.

The apartment building has the sliding glass doors installed & cedar shingles on the front - looks like a different place. This week we're finishing the decks & staircases. The big house looks spectacular - come and check it out!
